Not enough dry malt extract to reach OG.Feb 08, 2009

I figured I would be the guinea pig and try one of these kits. With free shipping it was pretty cheap... for a good reason. The kit only comes with 3 lbs of dry malt extract. The original gravity is supposed to be 1.045 but with the paltry amount of malt, 5 gallons of 70F wort only has a gravity of 1.025. It's fermenting now but my hopes aren't very high. Considering what you get, a much better deal can be found elsewhere online.
