My 4 yr old loves playing with Ariel, but her behind is so big it takes an adult over 3 minutes of pulling and prodding to change an outfit. I'm sure very soon the outfits will tear, the amount of pulling isn't good for the dresses. I don't know why Ariel's behind has to be so big, or the dresses cut so small. FORGET my daughter doing this herself any time in the near future.

My daughter is only 2.5 but we let her play with this toy under proper adult supervision. She loves Ariel and can put on the sea shell top and the skirts herself, but the tops with arms? Forget it! I can barely get them on. Ariel's arms stick out at such weird angles; it really makes me wonder if the designers tried putting the clothes on before releasing this toy.

I gave this toy to my niece who is now 6. She loves it. Unfortuneatly I also gave this toy to her when she was 4. She had no interest at all & needed help putting on the clothes.
This is not a toy for 3, 4 or 5 year olds. This is a wonderful toy for 6 or 7 year olds. My niece now spends hours playing with the mini dolls & their clothes.
It it is good for their dexterity to learn to put small things on the doll. Now she can do it all by herself & plays quietly with them for hours.

It is impossible for my 3 year old to get the tops on by herself. I dislike that she can't play with it by herself. She loves it though.

My 3-year-old was given this for Christmas, but boy I wish it could magically "disappear." The outfits are *really difficult* to put on, so my husband and I are constantly being begged to change Ariel's clothes. Ten seconds pass, and we're asked again. We've had to take this toy away, just so we could have a break from the constant requests. (As an unrelated aside, Ariel looks absolutely emaciated. Her arms stick out akimbo, all bony angles. It's vaguely creepy looking.) It's a poorly designed toy, at least for little girls.
