review on sesame street elmo plushJan 05, 2007
By Susan E. Dulzo Porter The toy arrived in a timely manner and in the condition promised. When ordered we could not find an Elmo that did not have a battery pack in it's body locally and since my little boy loves Elmo it was really something that would mean a lot to him. It is just the right size for a 1 year old to carry around the house and soft enough to sleep with without worrying about him hurting his head on it.

Over 50 owner!Jan 29, 2010

Why would a 50+ year old want a stuffed Elmo? Here's why: I SKYPE regularly with my niece and nephew in Europe. They love characters like Elmo, Barney, Mickey etc. They are also hard to keep attention at their just about 2 year age. So, when I begin each SKYPE call, I use Elmo to start the conversation and Elmo introduces their Aunt and Uncle who is visitig with Elmo on the SKYPE call. Try it!
The product has a great Elmo face...not a cheap one at all...It's filled well and the 12" size is perfect for small hands...the twins have this size in many of the SS characters and they love them too.

Decent ElmoSep 22, 2011
By Robert McDonald While my 2-year old daughter loves her little Elmo, I'm not so impressed with it. The color's right and you can, of course, tell it's Elmo, but the face is squashed together and it doesn't really look exactly like the character. Which is strange to me considering the character is a puppet, after all, not a cartoon or something.
It came out of the box with a little damage to its fur under the nose by its mouth, but it survived our washing machine okay, so we'll see how long it lasts. Evidently, shedding is a problem for these types of plush dolls, but so far the rest of this one's fur seems okay.
Overall, I don't think my daughter cares that it's not an exact 12" replica of Elmo (the size *is* great for a 2-year old), but I'm a bit disappointed by it. I suppose I should've paid better attention to the pictures. For the price (which is okay, but not amazing), I think there might be some better Elmo-doll choices.
not as advertised!Aug 18, 2011
By happyhusband Beware, potential buyers -- this Elmo is not as advertised. The Elmo that was delivered is much different-looking than in the listing. According to the picture, it's a very short-haired Elmo that looks true to the character. What arrived, however, was an ugly Elmo doll with fuzzier 'hair'. Most notably, the face is also different and even a little scary. (I will post pictures.) Also, the quality is very bad, with some of his hair missing and exposing the underneath stitching.
Previously, I've purchased an Elmo just like in the picture. It's the authentic Fisher-Price version. The one that was delivered, however, is a knock-off, with the Nanco brand. It is definitely not the same, and it's certainly not what I was led to believe I was purchasing. It's ugly, and it's not the real Elmo. I have even more reason to return it because this is for my child's friend's birthday present, and I certainly can't give her this ugly, fake Elmo.
I will have to eat the restock fee, but it's worth it. Do yourself a favor and find the real, authentic Fisher-Price doll. This is not the one. Shame on ABC Toys for falsely advertising.
